Before she could hang up the phone, Gretel’s voice suddenly blared out from the speaker saying, “Mummy! Hansel and I will be waiting for you at home! You be good, okay?”

Lyla smiled, amused, and said, “Okay!”

‘What a rascal! Is that how she talks to her mother?’

She hung up the phone after a few more words.

The solemness from before was gone and her mood was slightly uplifted. She turned to the project in front of her and began to work seriously.

The two darlings at home would always be her perpetual source of motivation. Everytime she was down, she would think about the cute little children at home and her body would be boosted with an inexhaustible amount of energy.

When it was about time to clock out, Lyla nervously thought about going back home to see her two children. That being said, perhaps something went wrong somewhere but it was extremely hard for her to hail a cab.

It was, after all, the rush hour after work. There were too many people and everyone was rushing to leave.

Just then, she managed to hail a can but someone from behind cut her line and entered the car by pushing her aside.

Lyla frowned immediately and called him out.

“Hey, mister! That’s my cab!”

“Says who?” the person replied, not with a reasonable answer as he started to show himself as a manly person.

Lyla’s eyes widened.

“You… You unreasonable bastard!”

“Miss, it’s always hard to get a cab during these times. It takes skills to actually get a cab!” said the man as he puts on a prideful look on his face.

She had seen some without manners but she had never seen one that could exceed that.

Lyla looked at him and suddenly smirked. Her eyes glinted with trickey and she said, “Mister, are you sure you want to take this cab from me?”
