Hansel’s eyes glistened. He looked at Mark and said, “How much?”

Mark sat in silence. Even though the police cruiser was not as comfortable, he acted like he was a king sitting on his throne. He carried Hansel in his arms and raised a brow. “How much do you want?”

“Uh… Does it mean I can get as much as I want?” Hansel showed an avaricious look.

“More or less.”

“Hehe, I have to think about it then!”

The father and son did not look anxious at all. They were chatting and thinking about how to ‘swindle’ others. Their conversation was so vexing that the police officers in the car got irritated.

The two of them were either extremely arrogant or something was wrong with their minds.

They were chatting like normal inside a police cruiser after being arrested.

“Talk as much as you want! You will see when we are back in the station!” said the leader of the police officers.

Mark reacted in disdain. Hansel leaned on Mark’s chest and turned a deaf ear at the officer’s words, he did not look worried at all.

Soon, they arrived at the station.

However, half an hour later, things changed.

“M-Mr. Pattison! I had no idea that it was you back then! I am so sorry to be so offensive! Please forgive me! You can leave with your son now”

The proud and offensive leader of the officers bowed humbly and asked for forgiveness, he was shocked after he found out who Mark was.

“Leave?” Mark raised his lazy eyes and showed a sharp gaze.

“Why should I leave when you tell me to?”

“Uh… Mr. Pattison, I was blind and don’t know it was you back there, I really have no idea…”

“You threatened us and mentally traumatized my son, what if he has a nightmare at night?” Mark asked.

The officers looked at Hansel with an embarrassed look.

After Hansel got the signal from Mark, he jumped over to Mark and hugged his leg, feigning a terrified and traumatized look.

The officers were speechless. The boy was not like this when he came but none of the officers dared to voice it out.

“Mr. Pattison, I’m sorry, it’s our fault…”

“That’s it? Admitting your mistake and that’s it?”

“Then… What do you propose?”

The officers looked at Mark, they were shaking and sweating nervously.

Mark sat down on the chair lazily. His handsome looks were as disdainful as it could be.

“Nothing in particular. Since you guys brought me back, of course I want to stay longer, how does two weeks sound?”

The officers looked at each other in silence and awkwardness.

“Mr. Pattison, we were blind. You have committed no crime, how can you stay in the station for so long?”

“I thought you said you wanted to teach us a lesson? I want to see what kind of LESSON you have for us,” Mark said nonchalantly. He might not be loud but his tone was strong enough.

Hansel watched from a side and could not hold back his chuckles.

He knew his daddy was having a bad day, so his daddy must have vented his anger on the poor officers.

The officers practically asked for it as they had brought this upon themselves, they were being unlucky today.

The situation continued for another half an hour.

It was already 3:00 a.m. in the morning and the North-West Station was still as lively as ever.

The officers did not expect to be scolded badly by Mark after he made a call from the station.

In the end, at 4:00 a.m. in the morning, the superior of the officers came down to the station.

The moment the superior walked in, he went straight up to Mark.

“Mr. Pattison, Mr. Pattison! I am so sorry to put you through this terrible experience!”

Mark finally toned down his arrogance in front of Director Gordon.

“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure they learn their lesson!” said Director Gordon.

Then, Director Gordon called the officers away and started lecturing them.

“Are you guys blind? Why did you arrest Mr. Pattison? Did you guys bring your brains with you? Let me make it clear, Mr. Pattison is not just M.K.’s CEO, he’s a friend of the mayor! If you guys keep this up, I won’t be able to keep you here for long!” bellowed Director Gordon as he glared at his subordinates.

The officers nodded in silence, nervous sweat drenched their uniform wet.

Hansel watched from a side, he somehow started to pity those poor officers.

The officers were unlucky because they arrested his daddy when he was in a bad mood.

‘What an unlucky bunch.’

After the long and loud scoldings, Director Gordon had to plead on behalf of his subordinates just so Mark would spare them.

The officers looked at Mark with utmost gratitude after he decided to let them go.

Director Gordon even called a car around to send Mark and Hansel back.

When Mark and Hansel were at the entrance of the station, Hansel turned around and said, “About the mental damage that you guys caused me…”

The officers were shocked, their faces were as pale as paper. They remembered what they said when they arrested the father and son.

The officers were shaking when Hansel mentioned it, but the boy grinned sinisterly and said, “Nevermind. I’ll just take it as buying you guys tea this time.”

He left the officers with a naughty grin before he followed Mark away.

The officers were so scared that their legs were shaking.

After the car drove off, the officers sighed a breath of relief. They had learned a hard lesson from this arrest, they ought to identify the culprit first before they arrest anyone next time.

If they arrested someone like Mark again, who was someone that they could not afford to offend, they would probably be fired.

After a long night, it was already 6:00 a.m. when the father and son left the station.

The two of them did not sleep for a whole night but they were not sleepy at all. They saw a breakfast stall on their way back, so they stopped the car and went in to fill their stomachs.

The amusing thing was, the two came out of the police cruiser and the officers had to wait for them while the two ate breakfast inside.

“You guys don’t want any?” Hansel looked at the police officers.

“No thanks.” The police officers smiled and rejected it. They dared not even get close to the father and son now.

“Okay then, we’ll go have breakfast.”

The father and son then went in.

There was a crowd in the breakfast stall and they saw the father and son come down from the police cruiser. They were guessing what was going on.

If the father and son were criminals, they would not be allowed to have breakfast as they wished, but if they were not criminals, why were the police officers escorting them?

Many of the customers were having guesses but the topic soon switched to something else.

“That man is so handsome! Is that his son? They look exactly the same! Both of them are so handsome!”

“Yeah. He’s so handsome but doesn’t he remind you of someone? He looks familiar, I think I’ve seen him before somewhere!”

“Yeah, he does look familiar.”
