Lyla frowned. “What do you want?”

Kathleen reacted differently to Lyla’s words. Lyla sounded like she was telling the truth but Kathleen did not believe her.

“Who could it be other than you? Still trying to argue are we?”

“Believe it or not, it’s the fact!”

Kathleen did not believe a word she said. She was furious and wanted Lyla to feel what she felt.

“I can tell you that I don’t believe anything you said!” Kathleen shouted.

Lyla frowned. She showed a rare sharp gaze as she tried to argue. “Then what do you want?”

“I want you to feel what I felt, the pain and the sadness, starting with your daughter…”

Lyla clenched her fists tightly. “Come at me! Leave her alone, she’s just a child!”

“Child? Your child? Then what about my child? Have you ever thought about my child?!”

“I’m sorry for what you’ve been through. Even if you want to blame me, I didn’t know that you were pregnant before. Shouldn’t you take some responsibility when you decide to come up to me, asking for a fight?” Lyla asked.

Lyla looked at her. It seemed like Kathleen had regained her senses. She said, “Jump down from here and I’ll let your daughter go.”

She frowned. They were on the rooftop, she would definitely die if she jumped.

Kathleen was smart. If the police investigated her after Lyla’s death, she could simply shift the blame and say Lyla jumped on her own.

Lyla scoffed softly.

“Do you really think you can get away if I jump?”
