“That’s right.”

“What is it?”

“Hey, you’ll know it when you see it.”

“Are pigs flying? You actually bought something for me?” Hansel teased him.

“What? Can’t I buy something for you? Moreover, moreover...”

“Moreover what?”

“Jesse wants to see you, he has been yapping at me to bring him over,” Logan said.

Hansel fell into his thoughts. “Okay, come over.”

“Where are you?” Logan’s voice became crispy clear.

“Do you remember where we kidnapped you the last time?”

Logan saw red. “Are you playing me?”

“Do I look like I’m playing? It’s up to you whether to come or not.” He then hung up.

Following the termination of the call, Gretel raised his brow. “Logan Pattinson?”

Hansel lifted his brows. “Uh huh.”

“Why did you ask him to come?” Displeased, Lingo questioned with raised brows.

“He said he bought something for me and Jesse wanted to see me so I told him to come,” Hansel answered. His eyes were beaming as he stared at her.

Lingo was well informed of his little tricks. With a smile rooting across her lips, she pounced over and sat beside Hansel. “What? Are you working your tricks on me?”

Feeling guilty, Hansel laughed. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Really? Do you really not understand or are you just pretending not to?” Lingo enquired with a grin.

For some reason, Hansel grew worried and scared the more brilliant her smile was. “I-I really don’t understand.”

“Okay, I’ll get you to understand then.”

Hansel. “...”

He regretted the earlier prank right now...

Watching in a corner, Gretel helplessly shook her head. Hansel really deserved it for playing a prank that even she could see through.

Giving him a look that he was on his own, Gretel continued to indulge in her meal.

Over at Logan’s.

Logan was hot with emotions after the call ended. Struck by a thought just before heading out, Logan drew near to a mirror to check himself out. Taking a glance left and right, he was not happy with his look. He remembered something and picked out an outfit from the closet to change into.

He took out a set of clothing and changed yet he was still unhappy.

Logan proceeded with another change of wardrobe.

It was not until he turned his closet upside down and switched to another side, that he found one he was satisfied with. He stared at himself at the mirror, admiring his good looks.

Since a lie was told, he had to make his words true now.

He tiptoed into Jesse’s room.

Jesse was asleep. Logan went in and softly called out to him. “Jesse, Jesse.”

In a daze, Jesse opened his eyes to see Logan. He then flipped over and continued with his beauty sleep.

“Get up. I’m taking you out to have some fun.”

“I want to sleep,” Jesse mumbled.

“I’m taking you out to eat.”

“I don’t want to go.”

Anxious, Logan gave it a thought. “Did you want to see Hansel? I’ll take you to him.”

All it took was one second. One second!

Jesse abruptly sat up. “Uncle Logan, is what you say true?”

What the hell.

Logan resigned to his fate.

This line worked better than any other sweet talk.

He grinned. “Of course.”

“Let’s go.”

“Shh!” Logan spoke in hushed tones. “We can go there but you have to promise me one thing.”

Without second thoughts, Jesse nodded. “Sure.”

“Don’t tell your grandma about this. I won’t be able to take you to see Hansel ever again if Grandma finds out.”

“Okay, no problem.” Jesse’s smile. It was joy that came straight from the heart.

“Let’s go.” Logan lifted him before sneaking out.

He finally heaved a sigh of relief once they were out of the Pattinsons’ residence.

Sitting on a side, Jesse finally had time to look at him. “Uncle Logan...”

“Yes?”

“Why is your outfit today...”

Talking about his look today, Logan was filled with confidence. “How do I look?”

“Why is it so provocative?”

Logan. “...”

“Provocative?” He almost stepped on the brakes. “Boy, you really took on bad examples from Hansel. Is that how you talk?”

Jesse chuckled. “Well, that was the truth.”

“What do you know? This is fashion. Truth, my *ss.”

The men of the Pattinsons were nothing but confident narcissists. Logan definitely fit the profile.

Jesse kept a grin on his face, without engaging further in conversation.

Logan coldly scoffed. He drove his sports car, dashing conspicuously along the road.

Something came into mind when he passed by a store belonging to the Pattinsons. Logan stopped the car.

“Stay in the car. Don’t go anywhere.”

“Oh.” Jesse obediently answered. The thought of seeing Hansel soon lit his face up.

Logan walked into a pizza shop to buy some pizza. He happened to catch a glimpse of a flower shop on his way out. Logan hesitated for a moment before entering the shop...

He was carrying a bouquet of flowers with one hand and a box of pizza with the other by the time he came out. A sweet smile was plastered on that handsome face.

Logan carefully placed the flowers in the boot but hurled the stuff to Jesse.
