Amanda wanted to refute when Mark added. “I have something to tell you!”

“What is it?”

Mark’s expression was a little unpleasant. He thought about it for a moment and said, “You should know about what happened some time ago!”

“You’re talking about the incident where Lyla was framed?”

“Yes, you’re right!”

“What about it?”

His expression gradually became gloomy. After some time, he said, “I understand, I’ll be there right away!” He then hung up the phone once he finished speaking.

Lyla watched from the side. “What is it? Did something happen?”

Mark just gave Lyla an assured smile. “Don’t worry, it’s just about work, but I won’t be able to have breakfast with you anymore. I need to go there right now. Have a nice meal!”

Although Mark said that it was nothing, Lyla could still tell that something was off, so she just nodded without holding him back. “Okay, have a safe journey.”

Mark smiled at her and nodded. He then glanced at Amanda and gave her a look. Amanda nodded to show that she understood.

Thus, Mark left while Lyla just sat there in a daze.

Once Amanda saw this, she said, “You don’t have to worry too much. Mr. Pattinson will definitely take care of it.”

Lyla smiled as she picked up her knife and fork. “I’m not worried. I never have to worry about him when it comes to his work. I trust him in this matter.”

Upon hearing this, Amanda squinted her eyes at her. “Why does this sound like you’re showing off your relationship?”

“Really?”

“Yes.”

“Fine then, I won’t deny it!”

“Do you have any plans after eating?” Lyla asked.

Amanda remembered Mark’s instructions. It was better for them to not go out much at that moment, so she said, “I happen to have a project on hand, so help me to take a look at it later.”

“You’re asking a pregnant woman to help you with work, so how are you going to reward me?”

After seeing the documents, Lyla spoke to Amanda, who was busy in the kitchen, “Your projects now are way better than mine previously. It’s way easier.”

“This is easy?”

“Whatever that’s within your capabilities or ability to sort it out isn’t a problem.”

Speaking about this, Amanda felt a little curious. She then wiped her hands and walked over. “Then what projects did you do previously?”

“They were all projects that were hard to complete!” Just talking about it made Lyla feel tired out.

Thus, Lyla could not resist Amanda’s persuasion and told her about it a little. However, she did not mention Kathleen’s name at all. She just referred to her as Mark’s ex-girlfriend.
