“Shut up!” Mark Pattinson suddenly shouted coldly and startled Kathleen Turner. The next moment, he pulled Lyla and rushed out before everyone could react.

Kathleen Turner looked at their backs. It took her quite a while before she came back to her senses.

Everyone was exchanging glances as well, but there was one thing that they could be certain of: the relationship between Lyla and Mark Pattinson was definitely not simple!

They had never seen Mark Pattinson so angry before. He became that angry just because he heard that Lyla had a child.

“I’m sorry!” she apologized. But in her mind, another voice was saying, ‘Mark Pattinson, do you know that Hansel and Gretel are your children?”

It was because she could not predict the consequences. She could not tell him at the risk of losing Hansel and Gretel!

Mark Pattinson stared at her. He became even angrier when he saw her calm face.

“How old is your child?” he asked.

Lyla was surprised. She obviously did not expect Mark Pattinson to ask such a question.

She looked away and stared stiffly at another spot. “Seven years old.”

When Mark Pattinson thought about it, he felt like he was an idiot.

“Lyla Lowe!” He clenched his fists tightly. He could not hold back and threw a punch at Lyla.

Lyla, who sat in the front passenger seat, felt his punch coming, but she did not move.

She closed her eyes and prepared to have his punch land on her.

Mark Pattinson punched at the back of the chair.

“Get out!” Mark Pattinson said coldly.

Lyla’s body froze for a moment.

“Get out now!” Mark Pattinson shouted, but Lyla could see that he was trying his best to hold back.

Based on how Mark Pattinson usually acted, he was already considered being really kind!

Lyla unbuckled the seat belt and got out of the car without further ado.

Right after she closed the car door, she heard a loud vroom. The car suddenly started and raced forward. In a few seconds, the car vanished.

It was so fast that even the leaves on the ground flew up.

Lyla stood by the roadside and looked in the direction the car vanished. She slightly narrowed her eyes and frowned.

‘Mark, I’m sorry!

‘I can’t tell you the truth.

‘I’m sorry…’

She did not know how to say it. She could be thought of as selfish or something else, but she did not dare take that gamble!

After Lyla watched him leave, she walked along the roadside for a while. She took a taxi and went back home when the taxi passed by her.

After she reached home, Hansel and Gretel were not asleep yet. They sat on the sofa and watched television while drinking hot chocolate. The two little children looked adorable.

Lyla smiled when she saw this scene right after she entered the house.

Gretel turned her head when she saw that Lyla had returned “Mommy, were you trying to come back on time?”

Lyla smiled and changed her shoes. She was incredibly tired. “Yeah.”
