Ever since the two of them got married, they had sex countless times. She had gotten used to his body, but somehow she was still unable to stay calm in front of him when he was naked.

It seemed like she had somehow made him mad back at the private theatre, so why would he have the mood for it tonight?

However, if Blake was reading a book on her bed, he must have put Winson to sleep.

While Jessica had to face the pressure of being chased out of the family by her in-laws, she tended to love Winson even more. Maybe because of that, Winson loved to be pampered by her. Furthermore, since she was mute, she was a mother who would pamper her child.

Blake, on the other hand, always showed a stiff expression. Although he might look strict, Winson felt much safer around him.

When Blake heard footsteps, he looked up and put the book aside. He tossed her a piece of towel. “Come here. Dry my hair for me.”

Jessica obediently walked over and towel-dried his hair. His hair was much stiffer and shorter than hers.

Because Blake had constant headaches, sleeping with a wet head would surely cause the headache to exacerbate. Therefore, Jessica was meticulous when it came to drying his head. She stood in between Blake’s lap, so all he had to do was reach out to her, and he could hug her slim waist.

He did just that. There was no reason for him to not indulge in his tasty and soft wife in front of him. Moreover, Jessica was much more conservative, so he did not even have enough back at the private theatre.

After a quick and sudden spin, Jessica found herself on the bed, followed by his weight on top of her.

When they were done, Jessica felt dizzy, but she got up out of habit and wanted to head to the bathroom to wash up. However, right after she stood up, a strong arm curled around her waist and pulled her back.

Maybe the thought had rooted itself deep in her subconscious. Plus, it was the first time he hugged her while he was awake. Without any further thoughts, Jessica signed in front of Blake, “I have to take a bath. Otherwise, I might get pregnant.”

After she signed at him, she looked into his deep eyes, and the atmosphere suddenly felt stiff. It felt like she had stepped on his other landmine.

He slammed the door shut loudly as if a clap of thunder just erupted above her head.

The smooth and gentle atmosphere suddenly froze.

Jessica stared at the shut door and could not react. In the end, she stepped into the bathroom and washed herself from top to bottom. She knew that washing up alone could not effectively prevent pregnancy.

Maybe it was a kind of psychological effect. It was like how she knew washing hands with soap could not get rid of all the germs, yet she insisted on doing it to be as clean as possible.

Jessica returned to her bed and lay down. The other side of the bed was already cold though not as cold as her heart.

As she stared at the ceiling, her heart beat slowly. She could not feel anything but numbness.
