“Ms. Jackson, your tea.” A secretary walked in, delivering Kim a cup of freshly brewed tea.
“Thank you.” Kim smiled and reached out to the cup. When the bracelet slipped down her fair forearm, the silver dazzled under the light.
The secretary noticed the bracelet and she exclaimed in envy, “Wow, what a beautiful bracelet!”
As Kim glanced at her bracelet, she tried her best to hold her delight back while beaming gently. “I like it too.”
The secretary praised her bracelet again before she went back to work. After she left, Kim curled her lips into a smirk. She had a sip of tea and then sized up the bracelet on her wrist, looking even happier than before.
When she put the cup of tea down and softly touched the emerald charm on it, her smile became even sweeter.
‘Tiffany and Co.’s latest design! It seems like he’s paying attention.’
Joe came into the lounge and saw Kim admiring the bracelet on her wrist. His face twitched at the sight of her infatuated look.
He had heard the secretaries gossiping in the pantry earlier. They had said that if it was not for Kim, the super tense working environment might have lasted even longer.
Joe carefully sized Kim’s expression up. ‘Does she really think she’s the one who saved everyone and deserves the biggest credit?’
Joe quietly walked over.
When Kim noticed his presence, she quickly returned to her usual self and smiled at him. “Joe.”
Joe nodded in acknowledgment. “Ms. Jackson, it’s a surprise to see you here in the office. Aren’t you busy?”
“Come on, Joe, stop picking on me. What else could I be busy with?” Kim said with a smile. She waved the documents in her hand and said, “I’ve got more information on the project. Is Mr. Ferguson around?”
Of course, he knew the intention of Kim’s visit. He looked at his watch and feigned regret. “Mr. Ferguson is still having a meeting. I think it might take a while.”
