Jane did not have any patients at the moment, so she held the phone by clamping it between her ear and shoulder while filing her nails. She said, “I can’t simply reveal the patient’s details to you. It’s against my moral code. Anyway, I’m busy. Talk to you later.”

On the other end, Joe looked at his phone blankly after his sister hung up on him. He was also in a foul mood.

As his sister, Jane barely did anything for her little brother other than giving him constant trouble. However, Joe was a bright man, so he was able to pick up some clues from her words despite the conversation being cut short.

She had said “patient”. Jane was a gynecologist, so her patients could only be women.

Joe used the limited clues and related them to a ton of other matters. Then, he discarded all the unlikely possibilities and started to piece what was left in his mind together. In the end, he came up with a single conclusion: Mrs. Ferguson.

After all, his boss was quite okay with other women except with his own wife, Mrs. Ferguson.

‘Does it mean that Mr. Ferguson acting all grumpy lately is because of Mrs. Ferguson?’

Regardless of the cause, Joe decided to take a gamble. He clenched his fist and nodded. “Okay! That must be it!”

“What must be it?” Kim walked over and smiled at him.

Joe was shocked. He had gotten too carried away by his own thoughts to the point that he did not even notice Kim beside him. Nevertheless, he looked at her and said with a polite smile, “Oh, it’s nothing. Right, what brings you here, Ms. Jackson?”

Now that Kim’s translating job had been taken over by a new translator, her presence at the office was rather unusual.

Fortunately, Kim came prepared, and she smiled confidently. She handed Joe the document in her hand and said, “I heard the Spanish tourism project is facing some problems, so I did some research and wanted to show Mr. Ferguson my results and see whether it will help.”

After she walked into the CEO’s office, she saw Blake working at his desk. Blake looked at her and furrowed his brows slightly as if he was confused by her presence.

He looked at Joe who immediately said, “Ms. Jackson said she’s done some research on the Spanish project and she wanted to show it to you.”

“I’ve been spending my time in the library in the past few days, and I came across a book about Spain. I think it might be helpful, so I transcribed the information and brought them to you,” Kim informed with a natural smile as she walked closer to Blake.

After being slightly frightened by Blake’s fierce reaction during the dinner back at the old Ferguson manor, Kim dared not even visit him for days. Instead, she had behaved and played the role of Winson’s tutor obediently.

If Lady Cecilia had not asked her out to go shopping, she might not have even gotten the news.
