Rotten Twins: Making a CEO a Daddy นิยาย บท 361

“Are there better ways other than pissing her off?” Mark coldly blurted as he darted a sinister look at the figure in the hallway.

With a frown, Hansel had difficulty figuring it all out.

In a corner, Lingo unhurriedly chimed in. ”It’s clear that the person has no intention whatsoever to let your mommy return. She will make a move after the wedding if your daddy hadn’t done that. This is the only way to hold her up. She won’t go to lengths with scruples in mind.”

Getting the idea, Hansel nodded.

“What do we do now?” Gretel enquired with worrisome eyes.

“Keep the place secure and prevent her from seeing Delilah. Only then, she would lose her cool and give herself away,” Mark urged.

Hansel gave a nod. “Got it.”

Apart from keeping an eye on Ms. Davis, the rest was a waiting game.

Mommy, you must hang on!

...

It was dead in the night.

The corridors of the hospital were silent with the on-duty nurse dozing off, face down over there. A figure popped out in the hallway. This person was none other than Ms. Davis.

She had black casual wear on, equipped with a cap. Noticing no presence at the corridors, she made a beeline towards Delilah’s ward. However, she was dumbstruck once at the door. In plain sight were two men dressed in black outfits standing by the door. No doubt, they were bodyguards hired by Mark.

It never occurred to her that he would actually do such a thing.

Ms. Davis had a strong desire to go take a look, but Mark would be informed should she go ahead with it. With that in mind, her gaze turned to the outside. Struck by an idea, she headed straight over there.

She wanted to enter through the window, but after making her way there, Ms. Davis realized there were also people on watch in that spot.

Ms. Davis furrowed her brows.

Undoubtedly, she became suspicious of Mark’s ulterior motive by this arrangement.

Otherwise, there was no way he would not do this.

Nevertheless, what really went on?

She was concerned as to how Delilah was doing.

Ms. Davis wanted to enter and take a look, yet refused to put Delilah in harm’s way because of her. Gazing at the people guarding by the window, she narrowed her eyes as a hint of ruthlessness flickered by.

In the end, she turned and left.

...

Hansel, Mark, and the rest sat behind a computer and watched the scene unfold.

They did not miss seeing how she got in and made her way there.

However, the look she gave, in the end, proved a different person than she usually was.

“No wonder she’s been under the radar for so long. That’s quite a disguise she’s put up.” Behind, Lingo leisurely uttered. Although it was all compliments, her eyes spoke of contempt.

“Sure, she may be good at putting up a front, but still, we got her.” Neil raised a brow.

Hearing this, Lingo rolled her eyes at him without giving any more input.

“Piers, she’s out. Put a tail on her,” Hansel grabbed a phone and said.

“Got it.”

After hanging up the call, Piers sat in the car and happened to catch a glimpse of Ms. Davis exiting the building. After she had gotten into a car, Piers prepared to follow her.

He kept the car a good distance away from her.

Hansel rang in again. “How’s it going?”

With an earphone in his ear, Piers kept his eyes ahead, afraid the car might disappear from his sight. “Nothing out of the ordinary. However, this doesn’t seem to be the route she takes to return home,” Piers replied.

“No matter what and where she’s going, you better not lose her.”

“Got it.”

Just then, the car in front suddenly stepped on the gas.

Piers quickly responded the same to keep up in pursuit.

Sensing something amiss, Hansel asked, “What’s wrong?”

“She suddenly accelerated.”

“Keep a close eye. She might have noticed you.”

“I was pretty good at keeping a distance from her.”

“Maybe she’s only checking out.”

Anyway, these were merely assumptions.

Taking the matter into his hands, Piers sped up to follow the car ahead.

Nevertheless, the more he put the pedal to the metal, the car in front ensued to peel rubber.

That speed was similar to that of drag racing.

Piers was provoked.

It would be embarrassing if he was shaken off by a woman. With his male pride at stake, there was no way Piers would overlook this fact. Gaining speed, he went after her.

Two cars sped along a wide road. Despite the blinding headlights, the cars did not slow down.

They overtook one car after another.

Piers had full confidence in keeping up with her. Focusing on her car, he curled his lips into a resolute smile. It was a cinch.

Just as he was full of himself, Piers’ eyes suddenly widened. The car in front hit the brakes out of the blue, forcing him to brake and decelerate. Even so, the car could not slow down as it bolted forward.

Bam.

With the two cars colliding in a crash, smoke and fumes were spotted immediately.

Piers sat in the car, hurting in the chest from smashing into the steering wheel. His head also took quite a hit.

F*ck.

This mad woman!

Piers could guess that this woman did it on purpose.

She was a lunatic!

Enduring the pain, Piers pushed open the door and got out of the car. Noticing that she had not gotten out of the car in front, Piers went up to knock on the door.
