Dean looked at his empty embrace as the sensation of her waist lingered in his arms. Her waist was slim. If she did not wear an oversized coat, it might have been even slimmer.

He cleared his throat to clear his fantasy away and asked out of concern, “Jessica, I sense that you are having some problems. If you don’t mind, you can share them with me.”

While her being Blake’s wife was no longer a secret, it was not exactly public knowledge either. Just when Jessica wanted to reject Dean’s offer, her waist was hugged by someone from behind, frightening her to her core.

She looked around and saw Blake looking at Dean in a hostile manner. “My wife will share her problems with me. Thank you for your concern.”

Caught by surprise, Dean looked at Jessica and asked, “Wife?”

“What’s wrong? Didn’t she tell you she’s married?” Blake squinted his eyes at Dean before his sharp gaze landed on Jessica. He tightened his arm around her waist even more.

Jessica frowned a bit, but she maintained her smile.

Her marriage status on the school profile was married, but she never wore the wedding ring and Blake had never once gone to the school. Since she was just a regular person working at the school, no one asked her about it. Moreover, Dean was just a voluntary teacher.

Dean was clearly shocked by the revelation. Sadness and disappointment rose in his gaze on Jessica, but he still forced a smile on his face. “Since your husband is here, let’s introduce him to everyone else.” He nodded at Blake and then walked away.

Jessica noticed that Dean’s figure looked a little lonely.

Maybe she was overthinking, but his figure, for whatever reason, reminded her of her old self. Given the countless times that she looked at Blake’s figure while feeling alone and helpless, the distance between them never shortened in time.

He was angry because after he got the call from Jane, her words had made him anxious. He got so mad that he simply ended the important meeting, fired the project director, and drove an hour to this god-forsaken place, yet what he saw was her flirting with another man!

The arrival of Ms. Scott’s husband became big news among the teachers and students, and everyone went up to Blake to say hi. Blake calmly greeted everyone while acting and sounding natural, as if he was the husband of the year.

A while later, when the group dispersed, he walked to Jessica and said, “Get up. Let’s go home.”

Jessica did not answer. She had not asked for him to be there and she knew her way back.

“Jessica, I’m busy.” Blake sounded slightly stern.
